After the unexpected death of the mysterious Pilot, his brother Porter and mistress Ariel use the experience as their catalyst to undergo a spiritual awakening. Not knowing where to turn for comfort, they rely on each other for laughter and turn to look inside themselves for the first time. At the end they find out through careful thinking and hard work that all things desired are there in place already way before they are ever asked. "Affluence" is an examination of the struggle in people to overpower the negative influences from their pasts and realize the richness that is buried deep inside the psyche.
