Carlos Pazos empezó a exponer en 1969 en la sala de exposiciones del Ateneo Barcelonés y, desde aquel momento, lo ha hecho en las mejores galerías y museos del mundo como el MACBA (Barcelona), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), Centro Georges Pompidou (París), Gallerie Camille Von Scholz (Bruselas) o Joan Prats Gallery (Nueva York), entre otros. Ha ganado el Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas de España y el el Premio Nacional de Artes Visuales de la Generalidad de Cataluña. Este libro es el guión a posteriori de la película Artíss!mo, realizada por Carlos Pazos entre 2012 y 2015, en doble versión: en los múltiples idiomas originales y en su traducción al castellano. Como es habitual en su trabajo, Carlos Pazos utiliza la técnica del collage para construir un discurso, pues entiende la cultura como acumulación y la cita como instrumento de propagación. En Artíss!mo, aplica dicha técnica al cine, reflejando la visión de los mundos del arte y la literatura que las películas transmiten, sin distinción de género, presupuesto o fecha de nacimiento.
