COLD. CASE WARM BED

Cold Case, Warm Bed is a romantic suspense novel by Merlyn cuffie lebard
Fifteen years of waiting. One DNA match. And the one person she trusts most may be the one with the most to hide.

Detective Claire Reyes has spent her career solving other families' worst nightmares while her own sits in a battered folder in her bottom drawer: the unsolved murder of her husband, Daniel, shot in an alley and written off as a robbery gone wrong.

Then an email arrives at 6:52 on a Tuesday morning. A CODIS hit. The case is reopening, and Claire is allowed in, but only as a consultant, with a captain watching for the first sign she's too close to be objective.

She's too close. The harbor project Daniel was worried about made powerful people rich. The records are full of numbers that don't add up. And every thread she pulls leads back toward the people she loves, including Nate Voss, Daniel's best friend and business partner, the man who has sat across from her at Sunday dinner for fifteen years and helped raise her son.

Her feelings for Nate are changing, just as the evidence starts to ask questions she doesn't want answered. Claire must decide how much of the truth she can bear, and whether she can chase a killer without losing the one person who stayed.

COLD CASE, WARM BED is a slow-burn romantic mystery about grief, loyalty, and the cost of long silence, for readers who love cold-case investigations, small-town secrets, and love stories complicated by the truth
