Für Anzeigen, Corporate Identity bis hin zu Werbegeschenken wurden und werden Werke von Künstlern -ob sie nun als freie Künstler oder als Angestellte in Werbeagenturen oder Unternehmen arbeiten - eingesetzt. Ursprünglich bestand der Zweck des Computers darin, für Wissenschaftler und Manager Rechenaufgaben zu lösen. Dass auch Kunst aus oder mit der Maschine gemacht werden kann, war zuerst eine Überraschung und ist heute alltägliche Realität.
