Weltbekannt wurde er durch "Der Graf von Monte Christo" und "Die drei Musketiere".§§"§Die Gräfin von Charny" ist der letzte Teil der vierbändigen Romanreihe "Memoiren eines Arztes", zu der auch "Joseph Balsamo", "Das Halsband der Königin" gehören, die Dumas zwischen 1846 und 1855 in den Feuilletons der Pariser Zeitung La Presse veröffentlichte.
