Auf dem EU-Gipfel von Brüssel konnte im Juni 2007 zwar letzten Endes eine Einigung aller 27 Mitgliedstaaten über die Zukunft des Europäischen Verfassungsvertrags erzielt werden. Angesichts der hiefür erforderlichen erheblichen Zugeständnisse und des Beharrens einiger Mitgliedstaaten auf Sonderpositionen erscheint die differenzierte Integration nun aber mehr denn je als eine zukunftsträchtige Integrationsstrategie. Im vorliegenden Werk zeichnet die Autorin zunächst die Entwicklung der differenzierten Integration in der EU nach. Schwerpunkt der Arbeit ist dann die detaillierte Analyse der aktuellen vertraglichen Bestimmungen zur differenzierten Integration, insbesondere zur verstärkten Zusammenarbeit. Abschließend folgt ein Ausblick auf die Bestimmungen zur differenzierten Integration im Europäischen Verfassungsvertrag.
