L'objectiu principal del projecte que es presenta és arreplegar en un manual la major part de reflexions artístiques que hi ha sobre els vernissos artístics. Ara per ara, no hi ha cap manual o llibre que parle sobre la història general dels vernissos artístics. Els articles o estudis que es troben, es concentren en un moment específic o en una obra concreta, i la majoria, fan referència exclusivament a la tècnica pictòrica o formen part d'un receptari. La informació sobre vernissos està dispersa i fraccionada. Aquesta segmentació de la informació provoca que les poques referències que es duen a terme es facen des de punts de vista amb nomenclatures molt diferents, fet que en dificulta la recerca i, molt sovint, genera confusió. El manual pretén abordar l'estudi dels vernissos artístics d'una manera cronològica, així podrem concretar i resoldre gran part de les incògnites i dubtes que es planteja l'alumne que ha estudiat la tècnica pictòrica i els diferents autors, però no els vernissos. Trobar un manual en valencià facilitarà les recerques dels alumnes, ja que la major part de la bibliografia és en anglés.
