What if meaning does not begin with consciousness, language, or interpretation, but with existence itself?

ICDP: The Meaning of Being begins with a foundational proposition: Meaning is existence. From this starting point, Rodolfo Rojas develops ICDP, an integrated philosophical framework for examining how reality becomes determinate, persists through transformation, operates within constraints and possibilities, and extends its consequences through connected reality.

The book develops four structural concepts: Identity, Continuity, Determinism, and Propagation. It then follows their implications into biological existence, introducing the Ente as Meaning organized as a determinate biological reality.

From there, the inquiry moves toward perception, interior meaningful reality, biological time, consciousness, and the specifically human capacity of conscience. Human existence introduces new questions: How can we act responsibly when our perception and knowledge are incomplete? How can we deliberately organize present action toward futures that do not yet exist? And what can continue after our individual biological existence ends?

Through Responsibility, Purpose, and Legacy, ICDP develops an account of the human Ente as a finite participant in meaningful reality: shaped by conditions it did not create, capable of interpreting and acting within the present, and able to contribute consequences to a future it cannot completely know or control.

The book does not present ICDP as a replacement for science or as an infallible theory. Its final chapters turn the framework upon itself, asking where its concepts remain incomplete, how they might be challenged, and what responsible inquiry demands when reality resists human interpretation.

The Meaning of Being is ultimately an exploration of existence, finitude, responsibility, and what it means to participate in a reality that preceded us and may continue beyond us.
