Beim Außenohr sind die Entwicklung und die Entwicklungsstörungen, Knorpel, Hautgebiete, Bänder, Gefäße und Nerven sowie der Meatus acusticus externus dargestellt. Die Entwicklung des Mittelohrs, die Bandapparate und Muskeln der Gehörknöchelchen und insbesondere die Gefäße, Faltenbildungen und Recessus wurden detailliert untersucht. Ein eigenes Kapitel umfaßt die Tuba auditiva und deren Nachbarschaft, ein weiteres die Cellulae mastoideae, deren Tractus und ihre ärztliche Bedeutung. Am Innenohr wird nach Entwicklungsvorgängen auf Entwicklungsschäden eingegangen. Dieses Kapitel umfaßt auch die Topographie der Nn. VII, intermedius und VIII sowie Kanalsysteme und Knochenbau. Abschließend werden die Zugangswege zum Kleinbrückenwinkel, zum Meatus acusticus internus und einige weitere Zugänge geschildert. Zahlreiche hervorragende Bilder von Präparationen aus der Sicht von Otochirurgen, Messungen vieler Details im und am Felsenbein sowie die Darstellung neuer Befunde zeichnen dieses Buch besonders aus. Das Buch bietet allen diagnostizierenden und operierenden Ärzten in leicht verständlicher Form rasche und umfassende Information.
