Maximo The Elemental Dragon With Molybdenum Magic

Maximo the Elemental Dragon with Molybdenum Magic (Element 42 - Magical Elementals Chemistry Fantasy Series, Book 42) is a chemistry-themed action-adventure fantasy novel that turns the periodic table into the foundation of an entire magic system. Set on the fantasy planet of MarBryn, where the ancient philosophy "no metal, no magic" governs everything from ancient alchemy to airship engineering, this science-fantasy adventure follows Maximo, an iridescent, molybdenum-wielding elemental dragon, as he battles a rising corrosion crisis threatening to unravel civilization itself.

Part dragon fantasy, part elemental magic adventure, part chemistry-inspired world-building, the story blends real molybdenum science - its extreme heat resistance, its role as a biological catalyst, its many oxidation states - into an inventive magic system used to craft a scholarly, dry-witted dragon hero unlike typical fire-breathing fantasy protagonists. Maximo doesn't just breathe fire; he manipulates earth, water, air, and energy through molybdenum's real chemical properties, wielding a molybdenum-alloy blade, a resonance collar, and a conjured orb of elemental energy while flying across richly imagined locations: a rust-stricken mining town, a copper-oxidized forest, a floating sky-citadel, underwater ley courts, sulfurous marshlands, and a sound-swallowing void canyon.

Readers who love found-family adventure fiction will enjoy the growing band of companions who join Maximo's quest - a human metallurgist's apprentice, a mischievous wind sprite, a sky-ship captain, a water-mage, and a young fire-drake - each bringing distinct skills, magic, and heart to the story. With meaningful, natural dialogue, hearty meal scenes, thrilling aerial battles, and a genuine sense of danger (including a companion badly wounded and saved through dragon magic), this book delivers high-stakes fantasy adventure grounded in real scientific wonder.

At the center of the conflict is the Rust Regent, a corrosion-wielding adversary whose plan to unmake MarBryn's metal - and therefore its magic - forces Maximo and his allies into an epic confrontation at the ancient Heartforge. Perfect for fans of dragon fantasy books, elemental magic series, science-based fantasy fiction, and STEM-inspired adventure stories for readers of all ages, Maximo the Elemental Dragon with Molybdenum Magic is a complete, self-contained 10-chapter story that combines imaginative fantasy world-building with genuine chemistry education, delivering an unforgettable adventure across the magical world of MarBryn.
