Mommy Be Back

Mya just moved to America from Kenya, and everything is new. New house, new bedroom, new school. When her first day at Perfected Praise Daycare arrives, saying goodbye to Mommy and Daddy feels impossible, and she cries the words that won't leave her, "Mommy be back."

Her classmates notice. So does her teacher, Mrs. Woods. Together, they find the one thing that helps, a song the whole class sings, that turns Mya's tears into a promise she can hold onto for the rest of the day.
