When an unexpected traveler arrives at Michelle's café carrying a weathered box from the rainforest, Axol, a curious pink axolotl, and Mocha, a clever chocolate tabby cat, know an ordinary day is about to become anything but ordinary. Inside the box lies a strange cacao pod and an old map marked with three intertwined cacao leaves-a symbol connected to stories of a mysterious group known as the Cacao Club.

Their search takes them deep into the rainforest of southern Mexico, where conservation teams have been trying to protect native cacao trees. Healthy groves are changing, mature cacao trees are disappearing without explanation, animals are behaving strangely, and trails that once existed seem to vanish beneath the forest.

Following old clues and the mysterious instruction to follow the oldest water, Michelle, Axol, Mocha, Professor Delgado, Daniel, and their companions venture farther into the rainforest, where ancient waterways, forgotten knowledge, and a hidden cacao garden begin revealing a secret much greater than buried treasure.

What they ultimately discover is that some treasures were never meant to be owned. They were meant to be protected.
