Damit entstünde hierzulande neben den geschlossenen und offenen Immobilienfonds eine weitere Form der indirekten Immobilienanlage. Branchenexperten gehen davon aus, dass nun vielen Unternehmen ihr Immobilienvermögen mit Gewinn an die Börse bringen. Wohnimmobilien bleiben bei den Reits jedoch weitgehend außen vor. Im Ausland sind Reits als eine Form des Immobilieninvestments bereits weitverbreitet.
