Adolescence has always been a transitional stage of life: leaving childhood behind (and coming to terms with its loss) and entering the adult world (by becoming independent). This duality affects a large proportion of adolescents. This period, which is difficult to navigate, can be even more challenging when the adolescent is overweight or obese. Their entire biopsychosocial well-being is affected, particularly their body image. This is particularly true given that our current society places high demands on idealized body perceptions, influenced above all by the media. Previous studies show that physical activity can lead to improvements in these adolescents. The literature has also shown that relaxation can provide benefits, particularly on a psychosocial level. Given all these benefits for overweight or obese adolescents, might it be possible to combine physical activity and relaxation to achieve even greater benefits? No studies appear in the scientific literature regarding this potential combination.
