Rojava History Made Easy

Rojava emerged from a borderland of ancient cities, denied citizenship, war, and a political experiment that never fit neatly inside a map. The Syrian Jazira, Kurdish and Arab communities, Ottoman and French rule, the modern border, Baathist policies, drought, the 2012 power vacuum, Kobani, the YPG and YPJ, the SDF, Afrin, Baghouz, and changing administrations form the sequence. Political ideals appear beside conflict, displacement, and institutional limits.
