Two Maps of Redemption : Covenant Theology, Dispensational Theology, and the Word of God

How should Christians read the story of Scripture-especially the promises God made to Israel, the unity of the Church, and the hope of the coming kingdom?

For many Protestants, two maps shape the answer.

- Covenant theology stresses one people of God under the covenant of grace and the fullness of Christ in all the Scriptures.

- Dispensational theology stresses a real distinction between Israel and the Church and a future for national Israel grounded in promises God will not take back.

Both maps claim the Bible. Both confess one Savior. The disagreement is about the structure of the story.

Two Maps of Redemption is a Scripture-first study written from a dispensational conviction, with deliberate fairness toward Covenant theology. It does not win by straw-manning the other side. It sets out clear rules for reading promise and fulfillment, lets the strongest continuity texts speak at full strength-Galatians 3, Ephesians 2, Hebrews, Acts 15, and Romans 9-and then asks whether those truths cancel the national and geographic words God still speaks in Genesis 15, Jeremiah 31-33, Ezekiel 36-37, and Romans 11.

Along the way the book:

• Distinguishes salvation from the Israel/Church question so one gospel is never put at risk
• Walks Romans 9-11 carefully, without hanging the whole case on a single Greek word
• Treats the Abrahamic covenant's land and nation elements without dismissing Joshua's historical fulfillment
• Reads the prophets' restoration language as cumulative rather than merely symbolic
• Situates dispensationalism in a longer history of chiliastic hope, not as a nineteenth-century novelty
• Separates helpful labels (Calvinism, Reformed, covenantal) from the real pressure points of the debate

Written for pastors, teachers, and serious readers who want light more than heat, this book keeps systems in their place: maps, not the territory. The territory is the Word of God.

If Christ is the center, Israel's future need not compete with the Church's glory-and Gentile inclusion need not mean God's sworn promises have been taken back.

Includes study questions, a glossary, notes, and a selected bibliography for further reading on both sides.
