For centuries, the mers have lived beneath the Everealm seas, hidden from the surface world. But now something ancient has risen from The Deep-and the sea is no longer safe. Merfolk must make a decision: stay hidden or reveal themselves to fight the creatures threatening their kingdoms.

Maren is a mer princess with a plan to reunite the four pieces of the Tideheart-an ancient shellstone that gives all mers the ability to walk on land. Using her piece and gaining legs, she finds herself aboard a pirate ship and attempting to pass as human.
