Lyn Simmons is looking for a fresh start. A new job in London with London Coven is that opportunity. Still dealing with grief from losing a college love, she decides it is time to start living again. The fairy soldier has never felt like she belonged with her elvish heritage. She has been built to be an excellent soldier for her fairy group, The Bramble, but it leaves her guarded to the idea of love. Meeting Griffith Skye yanks her into the world of witches and, with it, sends her down a dangerous path.

Griffith Skye is coming off a messy divorce from his college sweetheart. The Canadian architect's odd, isolated upbringing has left him questioning much of what he understands about the world. When a college friend offers him a flat in London, he expects to lick his wounds, find a job, and try to get his life back on track. He knows nothing of magic or the extraordinary that exists around him until one drunken night; he believes he created something from thin air to fight a nefarious entity. This puts Griffith on the radar of the London Coven, for there hasn't been a male witch found since 1940. A prophecy with a cryptic message heralds the return of male witches, and the realm of witches becomes nervous that the handsome architect may be the harbinger of bad tidings.

Sent as a spy, Lyn must keep tabs on Griffith. Unfortunately, the spark between them is undeniable. Fighting against her attraction, she must hold fast to her duty while trying not to lose her heart. As Griffith discovers that he is far more extraordinary than he ever knew, he tries to win the guarded fairy for himself. His appearance attracts attention from other dangerous groups bent on either stopping or fulfilling the prophecy, leaving him in the crosshairs. Lyn will stop at nothing to protect him, but is she ready to lose her heart to a Mage who may bring about the end of magic itself?
