My Shadow Has Its Own Level System

My Shadow Has Its Own Level SystemBardylis Orne has spent four years carrying light into the Hollow Ascent, a deadly dungeon where shadows can mean the difference between survival and death. At nineteen, he is only a Level 3 F-rank Torchbearer—weak, overlooked, and accustomed to watching stronger adventurers take the glory. Then, during a disastrous expedition, something impossible happens. When Bardylis's lamp goes out, his shadow moves on its own.It kills. And when it returns, Bardylis discovers that his shadow has its own level system, its own experience, and its own abilities. Unlike him, it can grow stronger by hunting in the darkness, consuming other shadows, and acquiring skills of its own. But every new ability raises a terrifying question: how far can a shadow evolve before it stops being a reflection and becomes something else?As Bardylis struggles to understand the creature following him, powerful forces begin to take notice. The Censors want to control what they cannot explain, while a mysterious Shadow-Reaver sees Bardylis's living shadow as something far more valuable—and far more dangerous—than a mere supernatural anomaly. With his shadow advancing toward levels where it may claim its own name and eventually its own body, Bardylis must uncover the truth behind its existence before the thing born from his darkness learns everything about him.Because his greatest enemy may not be waiting in the dungeon. It may be standing at his feet.
