In Volume 1, Norman Polmar shows carriers in action, from World War One, to the end of World War Two. The aircraft, the commanders and pilots (British, German, American and Japanese) are described and illustrated in over 200 photographs. Volume 2, which will cover 1945 to 2005 will be published in Autumn 2006. It is revised and updated edition of a standard work, previously published by Doubleday in 1969.
