Horror and Supernatural Mystery in a Texas You Don't Know

Rising west from Austin and San Antonio, the Texas Hill County is a region of rolling hills and woods, where history and folklore brought by Central European immigrants joins that of settlers and Native Americans in casting long shadows over small towns and lonely farms.

Austin author Jon Black presents six tales of horror and supernatural mystery drawing upon the Hill Country's geography, history, and cultures - in which the region itself is a silent but ever-present character.

A skilled hand with historical fiction, Jon Black's Hill Country tales bring to life eras from the Wild West to the present day. Hill Country Supernatural includes a novel-length expansion of the hot-rodding horror of "Totmann's Curve," the award-winning 1980s nostalgia-driven weird tale "Pioneer House," and the ghostly yarn "So Lonesome I Could Die." Also presented appearing are three previously unpublished tales of cosmic horror, slasher camp, and modern Gothic.
