Le sue fotografie, messe in scena facendo ricorso ai mezzi propri del cinema, hanno legato insieme i frammenti di un mondo crepuscolare. Questo libro riunisce le tre serie concepite tra il 2012 e il 2022: Cathedral of the Pines (2012-2014), An Eclipse of Moths (2018-2019) ed Eveningside (2021-2022). Pensate come una trilogia, esse offrono una prospettiva inedita su un decennio di creazione e restituiscono una panoramica completa dell'universo che ha fatto di Gregory Crewdson una delle figure fondamentali della fotografia. Questa trilogia è preceduta da Fireflies (1996), una serie essenziale per cogliere il rimestio delle correnti che si agitano in profondità nell'arte di Gregory Crewdson. Jean-Charles Vergne, critico d'arte, editore di libri d'arte e curatore, è direttore del FRAC Auvergne dal 1996. Interessato ad artisti come Luc Tuymans, Albert Oehlen, Richard Tuttle, David Lynch, Darren Almond, Eberhard Havekost, Raoul de Keyser, Katharina Grosse, ha curato oltre 150 mostre. È stato membro della commissione del Fond national d'art contemporain - Fnac dal 2008 al 2011. Postfazione di Antonio Carloni.
