Né en 1913 et décédé en 1925, sa courte vie est celle d'un enfant ordinaire qui grandit à Paris au milieu de ses jouets, de sa collection de papillons et de ses difficultés scolaires, au coeur d'une famille aimante. Il laissera pourtant l'oeuvre de la grâce se déployer en son âme de façon éclatante : « Jésus et moi, nous nous aimons tellement », avait-il coutume de dire, sans que son entourage ne le prenne vraiment au sérieux, ni ne mesure ce qui l'animait alors.
Son comportement et ses confidences, durant sa maladie et face à sa mort brutale l'emportant à onze ans, déchireront le voile. Son chemin spirituel fulgurant sera révélé grâce à la publication d'une brochure de souvenirs maternels qui, sans enjoliver son histoire, raconte sa courte existence. Ce petit texte connaîtra un succès immense par sa fraîcheur et sa profondeur.
Suite à l'ouverture de son procès en béatification, il sera reconnu serviteur de Dieu. Aujourd'hui encore, nombreux sont ceux qui prient Guy de Fontgalland et témoignent de conversions, guérisons ou vocations. Cet enfant, tout autant rêveur qu'insolent, ordinaire dans ses défauts et ses qualités, délivre le témoignage d'une extraordinaire amitié avec Jésus.
Le Père Ludovic Lécuru est moine bénédictin de l'Abbaye Saint-Wandrille (Seine-Maritime). Il est auteur de nombreux ouvrages de spiritualité.
