I can't believe Grandfather managed to trap Layden in an arranged marriage with me. We were best friends once, but we've barely spoken in almost a decade. Grandfather backed both of us into a corner and there was nothing else to do except agree.

I'm still so busy trying not to be affected by him, all I can do is hiccup in shock and throw my arms around him as he swoops down and crushes his lips to mine. My whole body shudders, coming alive like it hasn't in the ten years since he left.
