Medusa

When Medusa left home to explore the world, she hoped for adventure, new wonders and excitement, and maybe even romance. Instead, she encountered a world being carved into antagonistic fiefdoms by capricious Olympians, and bands of humans desperate to receive any God's blessing, no matter the cost, if it eased the burdens of their harsh lives even a little. Two of those Gods changed Medusa's life forever, sexually assaulting her and then cursing her for allowing the assault to happen.

Now a single mother of twin boys, Medusa lives with her family on an isolated, island hideout for human pirates. Their uneasy alliance is shattered, however, when Hephaestus, the God of the forge, is cast out of Olympus, and his broken body washes upon their shores. Can He be trusted, or will He betray Medusa and the humans just as every other God has done?

In modern New York City, Chloe initiated the divorce from her physically and spiritually abusive husband, and she's now living her best life with someone she never imagined she'd love: the "monster from mythology," Medusa. But Chloe's best friend from college suddenly needs a place to stay, and that puts Medusa's hidden identity at risk; Chloe's estranged husband is going to greater extremes to force her back into his life; and Athena, the Goddess of wisdom and warfare, believes she's finally caught up with Medusa and is ready to end her life.
