In almost all countries of the world the link between museum provision and National development within the cultural sector is one that is faced with contentious debates about relevance, sustainability, governance and value-for-money service delivery. This book explores how England unique in its kind leads the way in updating and delivering best practice in museum services in the face of society constantly changing, funding uncertainties, developments in ICT and one world globalisation. Despite these problematic and challenging issues, the museum service delivery continues to be outstanding world class whilst offering a model that's easily accessible for other nations. The case study based in Cameroon has been used to compare approaches to which governments and the cultural sectors could draw potential ideas for their museum development. I recommend this book to all who are working in and for museums, academia and any one interested in museum development.
