A powerful company that plans to build a factory. A group of villagers facing their biggest challenge. Corruption that threatens the very existence of the village.
Fatma juggles the
challenges of family life with running her small guest house. She has spent her whole life in Ortakoy, where she is known for her strong opinions and a habit of flouting tradition.
After a troubled past, Levent travels the country in an old minibus, rarely stopping anywhere for long. But when he arrives in Ortakoy, he feels a connection and decides to stay for a while.
When a company is issued with a licence to build a cement factory in the village, the villagers pull together to fight the development and soon realise that things are not being done by the book.
In order to save the village, Fatma and Levent must bury their differences and work together. But is Fatma ready to speak out?
This second book in the Turkish village series offers readers the chance to spend another summer in Ortakoy, with the spirited Fatma and her colourful neighbours.
