The story opens in a fractured Ireland where rival clans teeter on the brink of war. Rumours spread that the Sidhe - the ancient gods who retreated underground after losing their dominion - have begun to stir. Strange lights appear over burial mounds, crops fail near fairy forts, and warriors vanish without trace. To prevent panic, the High King summons a young diplomat named Fiachra, known for his calm mind and ability to negotiate impossible disputes. Fiachra is tasked with a dangerous mission: enter the Sidhe mounds and broker peace before the old gods rise in anger. Though terrified, he accepts, knowing that refusal would doom Ireland.
Fiachra travels to Brú na Bóinne, where the largest mound glows faintly under moonlight. Guided by an elderly druid, he performs a ritual that opens a hidden passage into the Otherworld. The descent is disorienting - the air thickens, colours shift, and the walls pulse like living stone. Fiachra feels the weight of countless centuries pressing upon him. At the mound's heart, he enters a vast underground realm lit by floating orbs. The Sidhe watch from the shadows, their eyes bright with curiosity and suspicion. Fiachra realises that he is not merely entering a place but stepping into a forgotten era where mortals are intruders.
